Mr Sanbor urged the Chief Minister to enhance the CMSAP to Rs.2000 per month

Shillong, July 07: The MLA of 19th Shillong South Mr Sanbor Shullai has written to the Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma that, on behalf of the poor BPL beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Programme (CMSAP) to the Infirm, Single Mothers, Widows and Disabled.

The MLA said in the letter said that “I am to bring to your kind information that the Monthly Financial Assistance to the beneficiaries has not been paid or deposited in their respective Bank Account since the month of March 2017 till date which was laying pending for more than 1year 3 months”.

The MLA brought to the information that the total numbers of beneficiaries covered under the scheme are 99,552 only,  for Old Age Pension (Infirms) the total numbers of beneficiaries are   -53,573. For Single Mother the total numbers of beneficiaries are 30,284, for Disabled Persons the total numbers of beneficiaries are11,695. The MLA  request the Chief Minister to kindly extend your help and support to expedite the matter for early sanctioning of the above pending payment.

Further, as a special consideration and on humanitarian ground, I am also to request you to kindly enhance the present financial support from Rs 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) to Rs 2000/ (Rupees Two Thousand) per month and the same be place in the Cabinet Meeting for approval for the welfare and interest of all the poor BPL, beneficiaries of our State.
