N.F. Railway had run 04 special trains to carry about 2400 stranded passengers

Maligaon Dec 14: The last few days of disturbances in train services had left several passengers stranded at Guwahati and other stations of Assam as many train shad to be short-terminated and cancelled. N. F. Railway had run 04 (four) special passenger trains to carry about 2400 stranded passengers to their destinations since 12^th December.

While two special trains were run from Guwahati to Dimapur on 12^th and 14^th December, two other special trains were run to Furkating and Dibrugarh from Guwahati on 13^th December. There are about six to eight hundred passengers still stranded at Guwahati who would be carried to their destinations by tonight or tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, keeping in view the difficulties faced by passengers, 15956 Brahmaputra Mail which started from Delhi on 12^th December and reached Guwahati today will be run up to Dibrugarh tonight. Similarly, 15955 Brahmaputra Mail will also start from Dibrugarh tonight. 15909 Avadh Assam Express will also run from Dibrugarh tomorrow (i.e. 15^th December).

However, owing to the prevailing law-and-order situation, N. F. Railway has to cancel the following short distance trains.

1. 55601 Guwahati – Lumding passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
2. 55602 Lumding – Guwahati passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
3. 55603 Guwahati – Mairabari passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
4. 55604 Mairabari – Guwahati passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
5. 55713 New Jalpaiguri – Rangiya passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
6. 55714 Rangiya – New Jalpiaguri passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
7. 55719 Dekargaon – Bhalukpong passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
8. 55720 Bhalukpong – Dekargaon passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
9. 55721 Rangiya – Dekargaon passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
10. 55722 Dekargaon – Rangiya passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
11. 55801 New Bongaigaon – Guwahati passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
12. 55802 Guwahati – New Bongaigaon passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
13. 55803 New Bongaigaon – Guwahati passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.
14. 55804 Guwahati – New Bongaigaon passenger of 15^th December is cancelled.

LAW-AND-ORDER PROBLEM IN WEST BENGAL: Because of law and order problem between New Farakka and Azimganj section of Eastern Railway in West Bengal the following trains had to be cancelled.

5. 12517 Kolkata – Guwahati Garib Rath Express from Kolkata on 15^th
6. 13145 Kolkata – Radhikapur Express from Kolkata on 15^th December
7. 13146 Radhikapur – Kolkata Express from Radhikapur on 15^th

Short-termination:
