NEHU organised a one day national Webinar on new education policy 2020

Shillong, Oct 12: A One Day National Webinar on New Education Policy 2020 on the THEME “ NEP 2020: oppurtunities and  Challenges” was organised by HRDC  recently  in collaboration with Department of Education ,NEHU where by total of 181 participants from all over India took part in the programme.

The Honourable Vice- Chancellor of North Eastern Hill University,Shillong Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla was the Chief Guest of the programme. who spoke on the different aspects of  NEP  2020 and  impressed on the audience that the policy will address ,operate and achieve new way through its recommendation.

Prof S Rama Rao, Director incahrge, UGC – HRDC,NEHU,Shillong  acknowledged the presence of the Vice Chancellor and lauded the continued support to the UGC HRDC,NEHU.

Dr Q Kharbuli,Convener , Associate Professor, UGC- HRDC,Nehu gave the welcome address and Prof .I Syiem Ho D ,Department of Education ,NEHU,Shillong gave the introduction.The overall response obtained was positive and encouraging with majority of the participants finding the event very relevant and helping them.

One Month Duration Faculty Induction Programme for College and University Teachers was also organised by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre,NEHU, Shillong from September 9 to october 8.

The aim of this programme was to enhance the skills ,knowledge and efficiency of the teachers. Dr Kuheli B Das, Coordinator ,informed that the major thrust was laid upon teaching and learning process such as micro teaching, information technology ,research methodology,curriculum development and others.

Adressing the teachers at the valedictory function , Chief guest Mr PVSN Murthy, CEO ,NEDFi,congratulated the participants at the successful completion of the month long programme.

Chairperson , Prof . S R Rao, Director incharge, UGC HRDC,NEHU informed that 32 participants comprising of 6 numbers from Meghalaya; 8 numbers from Assam; 6 numbers from manipur ;1 number from sikkim;7 numbers from West Bengal And 1 participant each from Maharashtra , Tamilnadu, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand.have successfully completed the training programme.

A Two week Refresher Course in Material Science and Nanotechnology starting from September 24 to October 8 was also organised in collaboration with the Department of  Nanotechnology, NEHU where a total number of 38 participants from North East india as well as Participants from other parts of India viz Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamilnadu ,Punjab Kerala & Puducherry took part in the training.

In their valedictory address Chief Guest, Prof . S Dorenjit Singh, Director IQAC, Manipur University and Guest of Honour, Dr Raghumani Singh Ningthoujam, Scientific Officer, BARC,Mumbai, congratulated the participants for successful completion of  the course and they emphasised whatever  knowledge they received should be passed on to their students.
