New Delhi, Feb 03: The North East Students’ Organisation(NESO) which comprises of the KSU, AASU, GSU, AMSU, TSF, AAPSU, MZP and TSF, which is campaining against the Citizenship (Amendment)Bill 2016, met with the Vice President of JDU, Mr Prashant Kishor in New Delhi today on the issue of CAB 2016, in which the Vice President of the JDU has assured the delegation that the JDU will be all out to vote against the CAB if it is brought in the Rajya Sabha.
The NESO team also met with the MP from BJD ,Mr Bhartruhari Mathab,who also assured the delegation that the BJD is not infavour of this Bill and will vote against if it is introudued in the Rajya Sabha.During the day,the team from NESO also met the with Mr Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister, Government of Meghalaya,who together with other political parties of NE including the AGP,NPF,INPT also reiterate their strong opposition to this Bill and also assure the NESO team that they are also making an all out effort to see that this Bill is not passed if it is introuduced in the Rajya Sabha.
Later tonight, the NESO team will also be meeting with Mr Sanjay Raut, MP from the Shiv Sena. It is understood that the NESO will also be meeting with other Political Parties on this very vital issue.
