Shillong, October 12: For the last one week, Nazareth Hospital Workers’ Union, Meghalaya’s first private hospital union has been on a black badge protest in which most of the workers of the Hospital have been participating.
They were forced on an agitation path because the management has been tardy in acknowledging their legitimate demands regarding their wage, working condition, working hours, bonus and overtime etc.
The NHWU had submitted a charter of demand to the management which consisted of all the benefits which are due to the workers according to Indian Labour Laws. This black badge protest and other agitational forms would continue till the managing board of the hospital agrees to negotiate the charter of demands.
