Shillong, May 01: The National Parole’s Party (NPP) Candidate Mr Marcuise Marak win the MLA election from the 43- Williamnagar Constituency in the result declared today by defeating his nearest rival Mr Sengbath Marak by a margin of 4920 vote.
The NPP candidate Mr Marcuise Marak got 9656 votes, the Independent Candidate Mr Sengbath Marak got 4736, Smti Debora C Marak of the INC got 4554 votes, the NCP candidate Smti Krinilla R Marak got 4040 votes.
Others candidate, Mr Santosh R Marak BJP got 870 votes, Mr Lahatson N Marak Independent got 512 Votes, Mr Mahamsingh M Sangma UDP got 511 votes, Jan N Areng Independent got 329 votes, Mr Siljong R Marak Independent got 233 vote and who voted for NOTA are 279 vote.
The NPP with the winning of Mr Marcuise Marak from williamnagar, the total numbers of MLA in the Meghalaya legislative Assembly has gone up to 20 members in the house of 59 since election to the Ampati Constituency is yet to be held this month.
