One woman died on the spot and another four were injured in an accident at Markasa

Shillong, October 20: One woman died on the spot and another four were injured in an accident that happened in Markasa, West Khasi Hills today. This accident happened at around 6.45 AM today morning the 20th October 2017 when one Alto K10 with registration No. ML06 7353 was hit by truck AS01 DD 7036 leaving four victims injured and one died on the spot.

The woman who died on the spot is identified as Rose Lyngdoh 50 Years Female from Laitkseh Village in West Khasi Hills. The accident happened when Rose Lyngdoh along with the other family members were on the way to Guwahati to visit her two daughters who are studying and working in Guwahati, Assam.

The victims who sustained injuries are identified as Standbording Myrthong 34 Years Male, Thramshon Marngar 60 years Male, Lamphrang Lyngdoh 9 Years Male. Standbording Myrthong the driver of the Alto K10, told that the accident happened in the curve part of the highway and due to over speeding of the truck that came from the opposite direction, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the Alto that he was driving from the driver’s side leaving Rose Lyngdoh died on the spot and the other occupants injured.

The 108 emergency was alerted for this case and the 108 ambulance from Markasa were dispatched for shifting the injured victims to Markasa PHC where they were further referred for better treatment to Mairang Civil Hospital and KJP Robert Hospital Shillong.
