Our country has enough jobs for young people, needs to venture into new avenues: Dr Ampareen

Shillong, Nov 29: The certificate distribution programme for the 97th batch of computer trainees and the 37th batch of language students of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre was held at Shillong today at noon, the 29th of November 2022.

During the programme, the centre distributed 1,201 certificates to the meritorious students of Computer and Language trainees. Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, trains about 6000 youths a year in Computer subjects, spread over five sessions.

The present convocation is for trainees of the September to November 2022 Session, the 97th batch of trainees, comprising about 1350 youths from different parts of the Northeastern states.

The students who topped the academics were Computer-Beginner Ms Sandashisha Lyngdoh, Intermediate – Mr Pranteek Bhattacharjee; Tally-I – Ms NakisakaShangpliang ;Tally-II Ms. Meba- ai-Shisha Syiem; DTP- Ms. LadianghunMarbaniang.

Web Designing & PC Maintenance – Ms. Nika Delecta Lyngdoh Nongbsap; Database – Mr. SwarzinaSwargiary; Cloud computing and Python- Sabyasachi Paul Purkayastha. Toppers were awarded with mementoes and two expert-level students with computer gifts.

Earlier in his inaugural address, Vairagyachaitanya Maharaj, Deputy in charge of the institute, congratulated all the students and asked the youth to imbibe the ideas of Swami Vivekananda to be successful in life and hinted at the fact that man is the maker of his destiny. He stressed the need for education and encouraged the students to inculcate an entrepreneurial spirit rather than waiting for government jobs.

Chief Guest of the session, Dr Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, MLA, East Shillong, mentioned that one must keep on updating oneself and not be close-minded for knowledge. She also said that if all the degrees cannot change a person’s mindset, then it is not of much use.

Our country has enough jobs for young people, but one must venture into new avenues. She motivated the younger generation to work hard and take up exciting job roles in the private sector and asked everyone to follow their dreams.

Swami Divyaswarupanandaji Maharaj, Centre-In-Charge, concluded by thanking one and all involved and echoed Swami Vivekananda’s words in Khasi and English.
