Police COVID Control traces a 13 year old minor who returned from Karnataka

Shillong, May 23: The Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya and Federation of Khasi States extends it sincere appreciation to the Supervision officer and other officials of Meghalaya Police COVID Control for the swift and prompt action and quick response in locating and tracing a 13 year old minor who did not have a mobile and returned during the late hours of 21st May 2020 from Karnataka.

The student was accompanied by other students however on reaching Guwahati Railway Station they boarded different buses and family members could not  communicate with her since last night.

Fortunately this minor student boarded the correct bus and reached Nongstoin. However as the student did not have a mobile she could not inform or communicate with her parents and family members which caused a lot of anxious moments for the family members.

The anxious parents and family members including the village elders of the 13 year minor student of Siangra Village, (one hour from Nongstoin), West Khasi Hills informed the undersigned and it was only around 3.30 pm today the 22nd May 2020 with the swift response from the Meghalaya Police COVID  Control.

The  parents and family members  were relieved to learn that their ward was safe and in the isolation center under quarantine along with others in Nongstoin and expressed gratitude to the Meghalaya Police COVID Control for their swift and prompt action in identifying and locating the student within 30 minutes of the report.

The family members expressed their gratefulness to the Police for having facilitated the communication between this minor student and the family members.  The students who returned from Karnataka had a long memorable five day challenging journey.
