Shillong, July 28: The Prime Minister of India anguished by the demise of Dr Donkupar Roy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and former Chief Minister of the state. He is passionate about Meghalaya’s progress he served the state with great diligence and help transforms many lives he sent this condolence to his family and supporter said the prime Minister.
The Leader of Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly said that the demise of Dr. Donkupar Roy, Hon’ble Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly said “I am deeply shocked by the unexpected news of the demise of our honourable Speaker, Dr Donkupar Roy, today afternoon”.
In his sudden demise, we have lost a leader- rare and simple, down to earth and steadfast in his commitment and dedication to serve the state and the people as a whole and left a great vacuum in the state’s and region’s socio-political spectrum.
With his passing away, I have lost a personal friend and a leader who was always available as a guide and a counsellor whenever needed in addressing the challenges of diverse issues confronting the state.
“I, along with members of my family and friends, convey our deepest condolences and sincerely pray for the members of the bereaved family that they receive the much needed solace and strength to overcome this irreparable loss”.
The Meghalaya Speaker, He was flown in an air ambulance and admitted last week in Medanta Hospi tal gurgaon. He was suffering from Acute diabetic which was the root cause for multiple organ failure. His mortal remains will be brought to his hometown tomorrow morning by indigo flight.
