Railway Protection Force of N.F Railway honours freedom fighters part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Maligaon, July 07: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated by Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway at the premises of the Guwahati Railway Station.

As a Chief Guest Sri Anshul Gupta, General Manager, NFR was present in the occasion. Sri Pranav Kumar, Principal Chief Security Commissioner of RPF/NFR along with other dignitaries was also present.

In the occasion the freedom fighters and next of kin of freedom fighters of Assam were honoured. Renowned freedom fighter Shri Krishna Kanta Lahkar, President, Asom State Freedom Fighter’s Association was also present at this celebration.

As a part of the celebration, the achievements and contributions of RPF/Lumding Division were appreciated. RPF of Lumding Division have succeeded in carrying out various operations from apprehending persons involved in illegal activities to rescuing victims from human traffickers.

A video wall vehicle and a motor cycle rally was also flagged off by the Honourable Chief Guest Sri Anshul Gupta. A sapling plantation programme was also organised as a part of the celebration at the concourse of the Guwahati Railway Station.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75th years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievement.

It is also celebrated to pay homage to India’s freedom movement and freedom fighters. During this celebration the country will remember the significant landmarks during India’s independence movement.
