Shillong, July 01: The State Bank of India, the largest Public Sector bank of the country celebrated its 62nd bank day celebration on 1stJuly2017. On this day, as a step towards contributing towards the society, SBI, Administrative Office and the Shillong Rural Regional Office organized a Mega Medical camp cum Eye check up at Kynshi Village, West Khasi Hills District.
The Medical camp was attended by around 500 people The Deputy General Manager, (B & O), Shillong, Mr. Rajeev Arora who opened the Medical camp speaking on the occasion, said that this was a humble gesture towards the community of 12 villages.
The Bank also contributed essential commodities and Blankets to an orphanage “God’s Dream House” located at Langkyrding, Shillong. The orphanage is sheltering 41 orphans from across the state. Pastor Cross, the caretaker of the orphanage said that this step taken by SBI has brought smiles and feeling of comfort to the children of the orphanage.
Elsewhere, Nongmynsong and DGAR branches of SBI felicitated meritorious students who did well inthe HSSLS and SSLC exam conducted by MBOSEand the SBI Tura regional Office contributed water filters for NEHU Tura Campus Hostels.
