Shillong, March 09: Mr Praful Patel members of Rajya Sabha has written to the minister defence Mr Manohar Parrikar asking the union minister to shift the Denfence Establishment outside shillong city and in particular the encroachment to public play playground the Garrison Ground.
In this letter sent to the Defence Minister the NCP leader mention that the Garisson Ground was in the heart of Shillong City and it has been used by the public for many decades until the same was forcibly was encroached by the defence Authorities.
The play ground was under the management of the Laban Sport Club since 1906. It has been also mention that the defence has no document to proved that Garrison Ground belong to them and hence they are in illegal occupation of the public property.
