Shillong Lajong Junior defeated Langsning FC, 4-1 in the U-18 Youth League Shillong

Shillong, Nov 19: Shillong Lajong Junior Reds continued their winning streak today as they defeated Langsning FC, 4-1 in the U-18 Youth League Shillong – Guwahati Zone at the MFA Turf in Polo Ground.

The defending champions have lost just once so far in the tournament and that was against Langsning FC (1-0) in the first leg on 22nd October and today the Lajong boys made sure that they made up for the loss by winning the second leg round.

Freestar broke the deadlock and gave Lajong the lead in the 14th minute and Langsning responded with an equaliser in the 23rd minute through Figo Syndai.

Parvaj Bhuiya however, restored the lead for Lajong after he beat the Langsing keeper in the 36th minute. The first half ended with Lajong leading against Langsning by 2-1.

After the lemon break was over, Shillong Lajong Junior Reds continued to play good attacking football and were determined to score more goals. Their persistence was rewarded as Parvaj Bhuiya scored from a Freestar’s assist in the 58th minute and Donboklang Lyngdoh also joined in after scoring from a wonderful freekick sending the ball to the top left corner of the net in the 75th minute.

With this win, Shillong Lajong has collected 12 points and are at the top of the table of the U-18 Youth League Shillong-Guwahati Zone. They will play their next match against GTC on 27th October.
