Shillong Lajong will meet Kerala Blasters in the finals U-18 Youth League Tournament

Shillong, May 24: The Shillong Lajong U-18s defeated East Bengal FC in a thrilling semi-final U-18 Youth League contest with a 2-0 margin at the JN Stadium Shillong on Thursday.

Lajong Juniors continued their impressive form in the semi-finals match and is the only team to remain undefeated since the beginning of the qualification round that took place earlier this year.

In today’s match, both the goals were scored in the second half by Shillong Lajong.

The first goal came in the 76th minute after a goal keeping error which led to a free kick. Phrangki Buam delivered a perfect free kick from the edge of the box beating both the wall & Goalkeeper and stunned the visiting team.

Donboklang Lyngdoh earned a penalty for Lajong after he was brought down inside the box. Phrangki Buam stepped up to take the penalty in the 86th minute and placed in the corner leaving no chance for the keeper to save it.

With this win, Shillong Lajong Junior Reds have historically booked a place in the finals of the tournament and will meet Kerala Blasters FC on 26th May,Saturday at the JN Stadium at 4:30PM.
