Shillong, Dec 04: The Shillong police on Monday night raided two location in Madanriting where three people were arrested and seize 98 grams of high grade heroin from the three people from their residence along with cash of Rs.1,76,020 /-.
Speaking to the media the Superintendent of police East Khasi Hills District Mr Davis N R marak, said that from the police they have been following them for quite long time, so on Monday night permission to raid the two houses in Madanriting Block D and Block F were given.
The police started to raid the residence of Rebecca Mar 35 years who stay with Mr Vanla Muya Mar 28 years from their residence the police recover 23.42 grams and 12.98 grams of high grade heroin and cash of Rs.34,760/-
From the second raid Block F, the residence of Lalpenglawli 53 years and from her residence after a search they recover 61.6 grams of high grade heroin and cash od Rs.1,41,260/-. The total seizers come to 98 grams and this was a big catch in shillong city this year.
All the three persons who were arrested were book under the NDPS Act, today the police has forwarded them to court. The superintendent of police said that this heroin the price in the international market it will cost Rs.98, 00, 00/- lakh.
During the year the total seizer of heroin in the Shillong city is 1.5 kg and 20 thousand tablets, total case register are 49 most of the case has been charge sheeted. The drugs problems in Shillong city have been affected many young children’s even adult also.
The superintendent of police East Khasi Hills District appeals to the people of Shillong city to cooperate with them in dealing with the drugs problems. He appreciated the men who are working hard to nap these three people who the police suspected that they are main supplier.
