Shramik Special trains are operated only on requests from the respective State Govt:NFR

Maligaon, May 10: Shramik Special Trains which started operations from various locations of the country from “Labour Day” i.e. 1st May,2020 are being run continuously to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to lock-down as per the guideline issued by Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA).

These special trains are running from end to end on the request of both the concerned State Governments as per the standard protocols for sending and receiving such stranded persons. It is mentioned here that only those persons enlisted by the State Governments and brought to the station can travel in these special trains and no individual shall come to any Railway station on their own.

As of today (10.05.2020), 21such Shramik Special Trains reached NFR areas with nearly 25000 people comprising mainly students, patients and migrant labours with their family members.

Out of 21 trains 10 trains arrived at Katihar, 7 trains arrived at Purnea, 3 arrived at Arariya and 1arrived at Kishanganj stations with stranded people from various locations of our country like Kozhikkode (Calicut), Kota, Jaipur, Nandurbar, Hisar, Surat, Vadodara, Bharuch, Ghatkesar, Ludhiana, Ambala, Aligarh, Rohtak, Kalyan, Bhiwani, Jalandhar, Bengaluru etc.

All the passengers were from various districts of Bihar and received by respective civil administration of Bihar at Railway station after following all necessary Covid-19 protocols. The station was properly barricaded by deploying adequate RPF, GRP, and local police personnel to guard the station to prevent the entry of unauthorized persons.

All passengers were guided by RPF & GRP personal in queues after de-boarding from the train for proper screening by state government officials by maintaining social distancing and later they were accommodated in buses for despatch to their respective districts.

Six more such Shramik Special Trains are planned to reach various stations of Bihar within NFR area in the coming 2-3 days. Another 2(two) trains one for Tripura and another for Manipur are also planned to reach the respective states with stranded people of those states in next 2-3 days.

It is for knowledge of all stakeholders that, these Shramik Special trains are operated only on receipt of requests from the respective state governments by observing the guidelines issued by the MHA, Govt. of India.
