Shillong, Feb 12: Siju Regional Branch of AYWO met meghalaya Chief Minister Mr Conrad Sangma onhis visited Siju, during his visit the organisation has placed their demand to the Chief Minister by submitting the memorandum and the charter of demand before the Chief Minister.
The demand included Upgradation of Siju PHC to CHC ,Siju being located in the South Eastern part of Garo Hills is lagging behind in all fronts of development. The small town of Siju has a population of more than ten thousand and the Health facilities in in shambles.
Many a times, the innocent villagers were not having basic health amenities due to the poor maintenance of Siju PHC and thereby bearing the brunt of losing the loved ones. So therefore, AYWO Siju Regional Branch beseech upon your kind Wisdom to consider our plea and facilitate the upgradation of Siju PHC to CHC with the sanctioning of additional fund for infrastructure and appointment of more Staffs at the earliest, for which the people of Siju and its adjoining areas will remain ever grateful to you and your govt.
Sanction Extra Fund under Integrated Art and Culture Development Program(IACDP) Fund to CHYWGYN Festival, Siju is inhabited by the Atong Sub Tribe(one of the 12 Dialects) very proudly and the Atong has rich Culture and tradition which is in dire needs of promotion and publicity to the outside world.
The AJYWO genuinely feels that the Atong Vocabulary and literature also needs to be duly recognised and the efforts and initiatives should be made from the govt side too. CHYWGYN Festival is one Festival in which the Cultural ethos and beliefs of the Atong is showcast.
Despite of fund constraint, the Organisers’ is organising this Annual Event with a sole purpose of promoting the Atong Culture and Tradition. Therefore in order to promote our rich traditions, the govt should sanction additional fund from IACDP to organise the said festival in a larger and bigger way.
Immediate Construction of NH 62 from Dainadubi Via Karonggre(195.400 kms),the condition of NH62 needs not to be elaborate further as we all the citizens of Meghalaya know what was the condition of NH62 is. The prestigious NH62 is in dilapidated condition and becames an EYE SORE to the general Public.
The organisation submitted countless Memorandum to the successive government but of no use. We do hope that under your kind guidance and leadership, the much awaited and needed, the upliftment of NH62 will see its day.
They are running out of patience and the difficulties and problems of the people of the region will force us to take drastic steps for the construction and upliftment of NH62 if our plea and demand remain idle. Therefore, AYWO seek your kind intervention towards the matter and do the needful at the earliest.
Setting Up of Community and Rural Development(C&RD) in Siju, This is the long pending demand of the people of Siju and its adjoining areas. Siju is covered under Baghmara C&RD and it is non affordable and tired exercise due to the dilapidated conditions of Road and poor connectivity in all aspects. So, Siju C&RD should be prioritised for the better interest of our people.
Decentralisation of Governance is a must and the people of every nook and Corner of our state should be a part of governance and availing of many benefits from both State and Central govt should be easily accessible. Therefore, setting up of Siju C&RD will pave a way for fast development of the region and will ease the people from tiring exercise of going to Baghmara for simple works.
Setting Up of State Bank of India(SBI) Branch in Siju, In the era of digitalisation and e-commerce, the people of Siju is deprived of having a State Bank in our region. We need to go to Baghmara for small banking purposes which consume our time, energy and money.
It will be of great importance if State Bank of India under your kind leadership kindly set up its Branch in Siju for the better interest of our people. It will boost our morale and will serve as a much needed establishment for providing the Basic banking facilities at our doorstep. Therefore, AYWO kindly urged your kind office to do the needful for which we shall remain ever grateful to you.
Completion of Model School in Siju at the earliest, It has been learnt that the govt of India has sanctioned Model School in every district of Garo Hills under RMSA. The allotted Model School for South Garo Hills is being constructed in Siju. We inspected multiple times and the completion of said school is out of side despite of 75 percent withdrawal of total amount sanctioned for construction.
They are of the opinion that the Education sector needs to be addressed very deligently and this kind of delaying tactic will not do fair enough for our students Fraternity. We know that the far flung areas of South Garo Hills is deprived of quality education because of non availability of Educational institution. So therefore completion of Model School in Siju is much awaited and the people of Siju will remain ever grateful to you in person and your kind office in general.
