Shillong, Oct 08: Senior Congress leader who is also sitting MLA from 48-Selsella (ST) Assembly Constituency Mr Clemet Marak passed away today evening in one of the Hospital in the national Capital New Delhi.
Late Mr Clement Marak, he was elected as member of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in the bye election held in February 2005 from the Indian National Congress party defeating Mr Conrad K Sangma. In the General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly 2008 Late Mr Clement Marak lost the Election to Mr Conrad K Sangma of the NCP party.
Late Mr Clement Marak was again get elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly from the Congress party in the general election 2013 by defeating Mr Conrad K Sangma of the NCP and again he was elected from the same constituency in the general election held in the month of February 2018.
Late Mr Clement Marak during his tenure as MLA he was inducted as cabinet minister in the government of Dr Mukul Sangma he hold various portfolios like Power, Food Civil Supply, Forest Etc.Late Mr Clement was not well for quite some time.
