Smti Lictisitha seek redressed from the HCM for the death of her late husband Mr Hillary  

Smti. Lictisitha D. Shira. Wife of late Hillary Momin has filed thc Wlit Petition Vide W.P(C) No. 525 in the high Court of Meghalaya with the prayer to direct the Police department conduct the investigation and to punish the culprit as per the law and also for direction to the police department to pay the compensation to the wife and three children of the decease Late Hillary Momin.

The Learned Counsel for Petitioner Mr. Pillan T. Sangma inform that the Chief justice of the High court of Meghalaya has taken up the case today and while hearing the case at the motion stage the learned single Judge, has directed the Police department to file their Show cause and also to file the report of the investigation in the next hearing.

It may be stated that Smti. Lictisitha D. Shira’s husband late Hillary Momin a School teacher of St. Joseph School of Chidimit Nengsat police out post under Songsak police Station was arrested on 03.08.2018 around evening from playground by the Police of Dagal A. D. Camp, under. Songsak police battalion and there after late Hillary was beaten up seriously and on the next morning he was released by the Police of Songsak police Station.

That since from the date of release from the Police custody, Iate Hillary was suffering from multiple  pain in his body and finally on 11.08.2018 he succumbed to his injuries. The wife of late Hillary Momin along with her brother Shri. Japan D. Shira had lodged an FIR on the same day against the police personnel who assaulted the decease and the FIR was duly registered vide Songsak P. S. Case No. 16 (18) of 2018.

The petitioner cliam that till date there is no progress in investigating the matter and no action has been taker-r against the offender tili date. The petitioner Smti. Licitisitha D. Shira has approached the DC, East Galo Hills, Williamnagar on various occasion by submitting the application dated 25.08.2018 and 22.10.2018 requesting the Deputy Commissioner to investigate the case and to punish the culprit and also demanding to award the compensation to the family of the deceased.

The petitioner mention, there was no positive response from the DC and the police department, therefore the petitioner who is the wife of the decease late Hillary Momin has filed a case in the high Court of Meghalaya to redress her grievances and for the interest of justice.
