Smti Vilolet Lyngdoh all set to be the first women Deputy Chairperson in the JHADC

Shillong, Nov 12: The Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) to have special session tomorrow to elect the deputy Chairman in the council which is lying vacant for the last few months.

After filling of nomination, the office of the secretary to the legislative of the JHADC received only one nomination, that of Smti Vilolet Lyngdoh. Since there is no others contender the lone women MDC will be declare elected unopposed as the first women chairperson in the JHADC from the NPP party.

Smti Violet Lyngdoh was the first women in the JHADC to win the MDC election from 23-Rymbai Khliehriat Constituency in 2014 from the UDP ticket. Since there is no contender in the election for the Deputy Chairman post in the JHADC Smti Vilolet Lyngdoh all set to be the first women to assume the chair of the Deputy Chairperson in the JHADC.

Speaking to SP News Agency, the CEM of the JHADC Mr Madonbai Rymbai said that the special session that was call for tomorrow is to elect the Deputy Chairman in the council, since there is only one nomination filed by Smti Violet Lyngdoh she will be the first women in the JHADC to become the Deputy Chairperson in the JHADC.
