Shillong, Sept 27: Meghalaya Health Minister Mr AL Hek today in his reply to the question asked by Mr Syntar Klas Sunn on the Emergency Management and research Institute (EMRI), said that the state government in patterning with the GVK EMRI in running the “Dial 108” in the state.
When the services started in 2009 in the state there are only 15 Ambulance, initially it was introduce only in East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills but at present there 48 ambulance in the entire state.
The Minister in his reply to the supplementary question, said that the state government has sent the proposal to the union government to assist the state in implementing 102 and balance and to enhance the 108 ambulances services with an additional of 42 ambulance and also the ‘Drop Back Mother and Child Cares” . The state government has already sent the proposal to the union government.
