Shillong, May 29: The mortal remain of Rev Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh kept at the Sacred Hearth shrine at Mawlai to allowed people to pay their last respected to the renounce catholic priest who passed away on Saturday morning at Nazareth Hospital Shillong.
Today tens of thousands of people from different work of life paid their last respect to the late Rev Father Sngi. People from far and near of the Khasi and Jaintia Hills District has come to pay their respect to the Catholic priest who is well known among the Khasi Jaintia community.
At the sacred Hearth Theological College on the way to the shrine they have display few photographs that Rev Father Sngi has taken during his life time, from the photograph it show that this great priest is not only perform his religious duty but he mingle himself with political leaders like late PR Kyndiah and many othrs.
His funeral will take place tomorrow at the catholic cemetery at Laitumkhrah. The holy mass will be held at the Cathedral Church at 1.30 PM.
