Guwahati, Jan 11: The 12-Day Dwijing Festival comes to an end Guwahati, 9th January’2019- The 12-day Dwijing Festival that begun on 27th December’2018 ended on 7th January 2019. The 3rd Edition of the festival was organized at the Aie River Park, Hagrama Bridge in Chirang and witnessed massive footfall The event also saw several bureaucrats, celebrities and politicians attend in huge numbers.
The penultimate day of the festival was attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sarbananada Sonowal, Govt. of Assam, Hon’ble Minister (Finance, Transformation & Development, Health & Family Welfare, PWD) Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Govt. of Assam, Rihon Daimary Hon’ble Minister, PHE, Govt. of Assam and Shri Chandan Brahma, Hon’ble Minister, Tourism and WPT & BC, Govt. of Assam.
The 12-day event witnessed world class performances and visits by local, national and International celebrities and Performers. Artists from Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Italian,local tribes, Bollywood celebrities etc performed during the fest. Mallaika Arora, the Great Khali, Amit Trivedi, Budang Bolong Brahma, Usha Rani Brahma, Praneeta Swargiary, Himesh Reshamiya, Kailash Kher etc are amongst those few names whose presence brightened up the festival environment.
Singer Lucky Ali came all the way to Assam from New Zealand for the first time for the DwijingFest. Display of Bodo Traditional House, ethnic food and culture, Book stalls, Traditional stage, Adventure Sports, Rifle Shooting, Jeep and Elephant Safari, fireworks show etc were other major attractions of the fest. The event ended successfully by making a mark on all those who visited.
“The dream of making it a calendar event seems successful now. The amount of appreciation, response and gathering each day at the fest has made the event grand and set a new benchmark this year,” said Shri Chandan Brahma, Hon’ble Minister, Tourism and WPT & BC, Govt. of Assam.
