The 3rd edition of Northeast Fiesta organized by NSO concluded in Jalandhar

Shillong, April 12: The two-day long 3rd edition of Northeast Fiesta which started on 07 April 2018 and concluded on 08 April 2018 was organized by Northeast Students’ Organization, jalandhar  in association with Viva Collage Jalandhar, powered by VH1 and MTV Beats and co-powered by Sai Kripa Arts.

With the aim of Celebrating Culture, Connecting People and Transforming LIFE, this extravaganza Northeast Fiesta, the biggest carnival of Northeast India in Punjab was organized to showcase the cultural diversity of all the Northeastern states of India to all the people of Punjab with a cultural exchange program to foster integrity, prosperity and excellence.

During the day time Carnival, handicraft, handloom, art, traditional sport, photography and  tourism exhibition were presented from all the eight states. All the 8 states presented their traditional Folk music and dance and mesmerised the guest and the local visitors. A few northeast based music bands and also from Jalandhar participated in both the days.

Not only that, there was a discussion session on relevant topics of Northeast which was discussed and the eminent speaker for the discussion session was Arvind Mishra a Guinness world record holder and also a Tedx speaker.

Shri Vijay Sampla, Honourable Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, a Member of Parliament from Hoshiarpur, Punjab congratulated the students for bringing the cultural diversity in Punjab and expressed best wishes for the success of this festival.

DJ Prinal an eminent EDM artist of  Vh1 enthralled the audience during the last day of the event.Talented singers  Salchame Sangma and Ophilia Kharluki from Meghalaya enthralled the audience present during the event. Meghalaya students who are studying here in Punjab showcased their ethinic cusinies during the 3rd edition of Northeast Fiesta and also presented their beautifull folk dance .

Renowned footballers from the Manipur, Jeakson Singh Thounaojam, the first goal scorer of India in any FIFA tournament and  Nongdamba Naorem, both from India’s Under-17 Football World Cup 2017 squad, graced the event as a guest of honour with their presence.

“I along other co-founders started Northeast Fiesta an annual cultural festival to promote the culture of Northeast and also boost the tourism potential and business relation in the region” as told by one of the student stidying here in Punjab.The entire event moments and glimpses were captured and covered by a young entrepreneur Mr Hemanga Deka and his Zero Cube Studios team from Assam.

The local visitors enjoyed and also complimented the ethnic cuisines presented by the students from Northeastern states of India said Mr Boris Khyllep Co-founder of Northeast Students Organization Jalandhar,Punjab
