The 83rd Annual Meet of Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore will be held at HEHU

Shillong, October 23: The 83rd Annual Meet of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bangalore will be hosted by the North-Eastern Hill University during November 3-5, 2017. It is important to mention that IAS, Bangalore is one of the three Academies of Sciences in India, and was founded by Sir C. V. Raman – the Nobel Laureate in Physics. This will be the first annual meet of the Academy in the North-Eastern region. The meeting will be attended by about 150 invited leading scientists of India.

The Academy has also invited about 50 delegates from the universities and research institutions of the NE region and about 60 delegates (faculty, research scholars and students) from NEHU to attend the event. In view of the above, the Academy has requested the Local Organizing Committee to arrange a Press Meet of the Local Press and Media with the President of the Academy Prof. Ramakrishna Ramaswamyon 2nd November, 2017 at 4.00 – 5.00 pm.

Therefore, on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee as well as the University, I humbly request you to please take necessary steps to arrange a meeting of the Local Press and Media with the President of the Academy, and oblige.
