The 9th Faculty induction programme for newly appointed teachers organised by UGC in NEHU

Shillong, May 30: The inaugration of the one month duration 9th Faculty Induction Programme for newly appointed teachers of higher Education organised by UGC Human Resource Development Centre NEHU, Shillong was held on 30th  May ,2022.

The aim of the this programme was to enhance the skills, knowledge and efficiency of the teachers. Dr Kuheli Biswas Das,Co ordinator in her introduction said that 129 applications were received out of which 80 were selected based on their eligibility criteria and that the curriculum of the programme is strictly in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC.

She also highlighted the participants on the various activities in next four weeks and provided an overview of the entire programme.She also urged the participants to attend the programme seriously and sincerely.

Prof K Debbarma, Dean, School of Social Sciences, NEHU, Shillong while speaking as the Chief Guest on the occassion said that it was a great priveleged for him to participate in the programme which have been deligently organized by HRDC NEHU.

He also state that HRDC give the best effort in providing a learning experience to all the faculties. He urged all the participants to keep themselves free from all other programmes  and to attend the programme deligently ,to interact with the resource persons as this will widen your horizon.

Prof S R Rao, Director I/C, UGC HRDC NEHU, in his  inaugural address said that this faculty induction programme is multifaceted and multi purpose in the sense that it freshen up the various aspects of teaching in higher education ,it provides the advantage  in knowing various skills, methods and techniques ,it also helps the teachers in fulfilling the requirement of the UGC.

He appealed to the participants to attend the programme seriously and to make it a grand success.He also urged them to carry and dissipate the knowledge  acquired  back to their students, fellow teachers and society as a whole.

Dr . Q Kharbuli, Associate Professor, UGC HRDC NEHU ,Shillong while delivering the vote of thanks stated that a lot of effort takes place in order to conduct these programmes and HRDC is thankful to all the participants over the years who look up to HRDC NEHU and to all the resource persons who have been associated with the centre.
