The ADE, GSU stand by the KSU on the allotment of land to the Nagaland Govt in NEIGRIHMS

Shillong, July 21: The Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE) and the Garo Student Union (GSU) is of the view on the same trajectory with the Khasi Students Union (KSU) regarding our stand on the issue of allotting Land to Nagaland Government for the purpose of construction of guest house.

The ADE and the GSU is also not against any particular state or people being given infrastructural facilities for the people who come for treatment at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Institute of Health and Medical Science (NEIGRIHMS) but expresses its concerns over the need to have a guest house facility for its own people  of Khasi, Garo and Jaintia community  from the nook and corners of the state who come here for better medical facilities  and treatment which can be availed.

The main hardships faced by our own people are where to stay during the treatment period. Scarcity of cheap lodging facilities near the Institute compels the people to stay in costly hotels at Shillong. Moreover, they have the arduous task of commuting 12 or 13 kilometers daily for attending to their patients so we believe that the particular place alloted to the Nagaland State be alloted for the benefit of our own people and an alternative land which will be beneficial to the Nagas be kindly alloted

The ADE with GSU expresses its solidarity with the KSU on this issue and demands that the authorities to provide boarding and lodging facilities for the people of Meghalaya immediately and that a guest house for our own people be constructed at the earliest, said Mr Tengsak G Momin GSU President and Mr Dalseng Bira Ch. Momin ADE president in the press statement today.
