The aim of conducting Vajra Winter Games is to increase interaction between the Military

Shillong, November 15: Headquarter Eastern Air Command at Upper Shillong conducted the “6th Vajra Winter Games” from 31 Oct to 14 Nov 2017. The aim of conducting Vajra Winter Games is to increase interaction between the Military, Paramilitary and Civil Organization, and to develop the spirit of sportsmanship amongst all personnel.

A total of 18 teams from 08 Organisations participated in four disciplines i.e. Volleyball, Basketball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton. It included teams from HQ EAC, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force Directorate General Assam Rifiles, Meghalaya Basketball Association, Meghalaya Badminton Association, HQ Meghalaya Police, HQ 101 Area. On 31 Oct 17, the game was declared open by Chief Guest Air Mshl Rajesh Kumar Vayu Sena Medal, Senior Air Staff Officer Eastern Air Command in the presence of other dignitaries.

All the events were very keenly contested and HQ 101 Area won the volleyball trophy. While EAC won the event for Lawn Tennis. Trophy for Badminton and Basketball was also bagged by HQ EAC.

On 14 Nov 17 event culminated with zeal & enthusiasm. The closing ceremony was presided over by Air Mshl Anil Khosla Ati Vishist Seva Medal, Vayu Sena Medal Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Air Command who declared the ceremony closed.
