Shillong, April 03: To look into the welfare of the Garo who are residing in the khasi Hills region the organization namely All Khasi Hills Achick Federation was form and Mr Clavestar Ch. Marak was elected as it first president.
Mr John D Sangma general secretary of the origination said that, the objective of the organization is too look at the welfare of the people who are residing in the rural areas, like medical health facilitation, connectivity, education, unemployment, sanitation, the AKHAF will take this issued to the state government.
Speaking to media Mr Sangma said that, the federation will focus mainly on the villages in the rural areas which lack development activities, the executive members of the AKHAF apart from the president and the general secretary are Mr Gitalu D Sangma as vice president, Mr Rakesh D Shira as Joint Secretary, Mr Manuel Ch Marak as publicity secretary, Mr Helibes Ch Momin as organizing secretary, Mr Lediyson G Marak as education secretary and Mr Witnes M Marak as Advicer.
The general secretary Mr Sangma said that soon they will call for the general meeting in Shillong so that more members will be included in the executive committee and to strengthen the organization.
