The AMMPWA temporarily suspended their indefinite hunger strike, as CM intervene

Shillong, August 27: The All Meghalaya Malaria Programmed Workers Association (AMMPWA) temporarily suspended their indefinite hunger strike today before noon, as the chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma has intervene, to look into their grivences.

Speaking to SP News Agency outside the Meghalaya Health Complex of the Directorate office of the Health Department in Laiumkhrah, the publicity secretary Mr Basil Lyngdoh said that, since the chief minister has acknowledge into their grievances through the media that he will look into their demands, as a gesture to what the Chief Minister said they have temporarily suspended their hunger strike agitation from today.

Thought they have not received any official letter from the Chief Minister but they trust the Chief Minister that he will kept his words. The organization will write to the Chief Minister officially that they want to express their grievances directly to him.

The organization was surprise to see that the former Health Minister Mr AL Hek asked them to meet him when he is no longer a minister, when he is still the Health Minister he is not even asking his officer to meet them.  MLA who has met them Mr Raphul Marak, MP from Tura Conrad K Sangma, KHNAM as a party and others NGO, like the KSU, TUR.

The AMMPWA want that the government should give them in writing on or before the 9th September 2016, what is the stand of the government  on their demand, if the government  fail to do so they will again continue with  hunger strike.
