Shillong, July 16: The Assessment Camp for Persons with Disabilities under ADIP scheme for South Garo Hills District was held today at Rangku Memorial Girls’ Secondary School, Baghmara.
The programme was organized by Commissioner for persons with Disabilities Govt of Meghalaya in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Officer, State Resource Centre on Disabilities Affairs and ALIMCO, Kanpur where more than hundred persons with Disabilities from all four blocks of South Garo Hills District attended and registered themselves in the campaign.
During the assessment camp the disabled are being categorize into four different groups viz, visual impairment, hearing impairment, locomoter and mentally retarded group and accordingly they are being examined by the experts.
It may also been mentioned that those disabled persons who have attended and registered themselves will be provided with various Aids and Franchise.
