Shillong, April 08: The BJP MLA Mr Sanbor Shullai held a series of meeting with members of various Dorbor Shnong, village council and local Ngo’s of Municipal area and Cantonment area under 19th South Shillong to plan and implement where free ration worth 25,00,000/- to be utilized from MLA SUWP Scheme 2020-21 will be distributed to the poor families under 19th South Shillong Constituency. This will provide a much needed relief to the distress caused by lockdown due to COVID 19.
During the meeting the MLA requested that the guidelines issued by the state government to maintain social distance will be strictly adhered throughout the exercise by everyone in order to ensure that none in the 19th South Shillong Constituency get affected by pandemic.
The MLA also said that he has also earmarked additional Rs. 10,00,000/- from his MLA salary accordingly to provide sufficient relief material to the people of his constituency. The MLA has also assured the people of his constituency to ensure the continuity in providing assistance if the lockdown is extended.
This will help ensure that people from his constituency do not suffer during this period of lockdown. The MLA estimated that the relief material will benefit around Seven Thousand poor families within his constituency. The MLA also hopes that all sections of the Society, State and Nation as a whole stand united in this fight against the pandemic.
