The BJP  share information of alleged corruptionin the press only after substantial proof

Shillong, Sept 11: The BJP Meghalaya Pradesh shared information about rampant corruption in the GHADC and the JHADC with the press, and it was not surprising to see leaders running under the cover of ‘charges-are-unsubstantiated’ and ‘allegations-are-baseless’. Who kisses and tells?

But we want to assure the public that we came out to the press only after substantial proof of blatant corruption surfaced. Some of these documents were made available to the press too While these documents have not been published, the party  assure to people of Meghalaya that they have submitted all the documents with our request for a CBI enquiry.

But some of the proof is also for the public to see. Almost 50% of all projects undertaken by the GHADC are only on papers. Money has been spent on foot over bridges that only take people across mirage of development over barren grounds.

The people can also infer the truth from the fact that only after BJP highlighted the misutilization of funds did the EM of the JHADC came out and accepted that they had paid salaries with money meant for the benefit of the people.

The BJP also said that “Please note that this is a whopping sum of Rs. 20 Crores that was diverted. Moreover, this ‘temporary arrangement’ is making a mockery of the funds received under the central scheme”.

The EM claims that the repayment of this ‘unauthorised loan’ is ‘conditional’ upon receiving money from the state government! Is such an arrangement even allowed? Is it even legal?

Instead of worrying about whether the state BJP has discussed it with their legislators, or whether the charges have been made with the approval of the central leadership, etc..

It would have really boosted the people’s confidence if for once the leaders of the various parties would have raised concern over the corruption that the BJP has unearthed. But as expected, efforts to hoodwink the public and to brush to dirt under the carpet have already begun.

With regard to stepping down of the State Party President, Dr W. Kharlukhi has no authority to comment on the internal matters of a National Party’s internal matters.  First he needs to update himself on who are in the NDA alliance.

As recently after being elected he had named potential Prime Ministerial candidates from the eastern region, the likes of Tarun Gogoi and Mamata Banerjee. After the CBI inquiry proves that there is serious corruption then it will be Dr. W. Kharlukhi who will have to resign as State Party President and Rajya Sabha MP.

The BJP party cannot and do not support this corruption. For the BJP the people have always come first, and we do not look at forming a government at any level of governance as means to line our own beds will money generated from corruption, said Mr Ernest Mawri state BJP President in the press statement issued today.
