The BSF and Meghalaya police nabs 03 indian drug trafficker on IB with Bangladesh

Shillong, Feb 13: The Border Security Force (BSF) has been constantly developing information of Narcotics smuggling and intensive monitoring and surveillance was carried out for past few days.

The BSF along with Meghalaya Police carried out special operation in East Khasi Hill. on a tip-off, the joint team of BSF and Meghalaya Police stopped a suspicious Maruti Alto bearing No.ML-05-Q-2979 on NH 40 at Pomsutia under Pynursla police station, East Khasi Hills, which was coming from Shillong to Dawki.

During the search Party apprehended 03 Indian National and recovered 30 Packet containing 6000 Yaba tablets  worth Rs. 60 Lakhs and 10 gram of suspected Herion  value Rs. 50 thousand from their possession.

The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent such illegal transporting of Narcotics/Psychortopic substances.

Mr U.K Nayal, PRO,BSF Meghalaya applauded the joint efforts of BSF and Meghalaya Police and said that more such joint operation will be undertaken in coming days.

He also said that more information is likely to be revealed after the interrogation of the apprehended person. He further stated that during the month of January 2020 alone 3217 Nos  of cattle worth Rs 5,26,38,200/- were seized which is a big dent to the Trans Border Smuggling syndicate.

All apprehended persons along with seized items handed over to P.S Pynursla, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya for further disposal.
