The BSF and the BGB held combine medical camp at Killapara in India

The BSF and the BGB at the medical campShillong, August 25: The Border Security Force of India and Border Guard Bangladesh maintaining their social duties besides guarding the International Border always aspires to help the border population also. Both the border guarding forces organized a two days Combined Medical Camp on 24th Aug’ 2017 at war memorial Killapara India, under Sector Tura and on 25th Aug’2017 from 0900 hrs to 1440 hrs, at  Bangladesh Custom office Nakugaon.  On 24th  Aug’ 2017, Brig. U P S Pathaniya, DIG SHQ BSF Tura welcomed BGB Sector Comdr Mymensingh, Col Kazi Aniruddha at ICP Killapara.

Remembering the martyrs of 1971 War both Sector Commanders laid wreath at War Memorial Killapara. Specialist doctors from BSF, BGB and Civil doctors of Tura were present in the medical camp. These specialist doctors carried out medical checkup of more than 550 local people including 239 ladies and 160 children. Free medicines were also distributed to the needy patients. Sweets, pack lunch & juice also distributed among the civilians who attended the medical camp. Besides, Blood test on Blood Sugar, Hepatitis B, Hemoglobin, Malaria, Blood Grouping were also carried out during the medical camp. 06 Officers including medical officer of BGB, 01 JCO and 13 other Ranks and 02 Bangladesh media person witnessed above medical camp.

 

Today  similar Combined Medical Camp organized by BGB on 25th Aug 2017 at BD Custom office Nakugaon, Lt Col Md Atqur Rahman Acting Sector Comdr Mymensingh welcomed DIG SHQ BSF Tura and delegates of BSF. Brig U P S Pathania, DIG SHQ Tura received a Ceremonial guard of honour by the troops of 27 BGB at Custom Office, Nakugaon. After that, Medical camp started in the supervision of Senior Doctor of BGB Lt Col Md Abdul Rahman (SMO) alongwith 03 Medical officers of BGB and 02 civil doctors from Civil hospital Nalitabari.

A team of doctors from India side led by Dr. Bala Murugan (CMO) Sector HQ BSF Tura including Doctor from Barengapara civil hospital were also part of the said medical camp. These Specialist doctors carried out various type of medical checkup of more than 800 locals of Bangladesh villages of Nakugaon, PS-Nalitabari, Distt-Sherpur and medicines were also distributed to them.

This initiative has been taken by the Inspector General, BSF Sh P K Dubey, and Md Zahid Hassan, Region Comdr BGB after the recently held IGs-Region Comdrs Level Talks at Shillong, Meghalaya under confidence building measures. This gesture from the Border Guards of both the countries will help the border population on either side of the International boundary without any discrimination said Inspector General BSF.
