The BSF arrested Mr Chufian Ali of Assam, after coming from Bangladesh to India

Shillong, September 23: The Border Security Force troops when showing extra vigil to prevent any infiltration on the International Border due to Rohingya crisis, this time on 22nd Sept’2017 at Baghmara Check Post, South Garo Hills, Meghalaya apprehended one Indian national namely  Chufian Ali 55 years of Hajo District  Kamrup,Assam while he was coming from Bangladesh after meeting his relatives at Netrokona village in Bangladesh. Acting on a tip off, in area of  Baghmara Check Post about suspected movement of illegal infiltrators, BSF Intelligence staff nabbed him with Indian currency worth Rs.6,020/-.

In another incident, on 21st Sept’17 the BSF troops deployed at Umsiyem,East Khasi Hills(Meghalaya) , seized 15 cattle worth more than 2 Lacs while being smuggled to Bangladesh. The special operation party of BSF laid a trap while some smugglers along with cattle were proceeding towards Bangladesh through a thickly vegetated area. The BSF troops rushed towards the suspected area before the smugglers could succeed in their nefarious activity, cordoned off the area and recovered a considerable numbers of cattle.

“Due to the recent disturbing Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh, the International border of Meghalaya has been kept under effective surveillance and alert  to avert any movement of illegal infiltrators at the International border” said Sh. U K Nayal, PRO BSF Meghalaya.Apprehended persons along with seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
