Shillong, March 07: The Border Security Force Meghalaya celebrated International Women’s day- 2023 with the theme- ‘Embrace Equity’. The celebration was marked by various activities conducted by ‘BSF Wives Welfare Association’ (BWWA) Meghalaya like cultural programme, games, quiz competition, Band display etc.
The event also showcased benefits that the women bring into this world, the vital roles women play in the society and the achievements made by women, where the residence of Umkiang participated in the celebration.
BWWA Meghalaya president addressed the ladies presant and motivated them to be more responsible in all facets of life as their husbands remain deployed on far flung areas of border and more accountability towards their family falls on them.
President also motivated them to take up various ventures without hesitation which will bring prosperity and a sense of achievement to them. In addition, Women’s day was celebrated on International border of East Jaintia Hills also by 172 Bn BSF Meghalaya at Umkiang during which Weapon Display was witnessed by students of Holly Cross Higher Secondary School Umkiang. .
