The BSF Coordinated Bharat Ke Veer Ultra marathon on arrival in Shillong today

Shillong, April 09: Bharat ke veer ultra marathon runner Shri Samir Singh who started running on 01st Dec 2017 from Wagha with aim to create awareness among people of India under programme ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ which was started to support to the Martyrs, an initiative of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.

He has already covered the area of bordering states of Punjab, Rajasthan Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra, Odisha, West Bengal and Assam. He reached at Shillong on 9th April 2018 on frist Anniversary of lunching Bharat Ke Veer programme. During this ultra marathon, he runs appx 80 to 100 km everyday and he has already covered more then 10,000 kms.

A Group of Frontier Sports person alongwith officers of Border Security Force, Meghalaya Frontier headed by Sh U K Nayal, DIG/PRO welcomed Sh Sameer Singh at Barapani/Umiam lake and accompanied/participated with  him upto BSF HQ Umpling Camp.

A warm welcome was organized by BSF Frontier HQ, Meghalaya. In Shillong, where more than 300 civil and force personnel gathered to welcome him and his team. Team of runner of BSF also participating in run with Shri Sameer inside Meghalaya State.  Shri Naimuddin DIG/PSO Meghalaya welcomed at Saheed Smarak, BSF Campus, Umpling.

Mr  Nayal conveyed his thanks to Mr Sameer and Sh Akshay Kumar a renowned film Actor of Bollywood for organizing this  programme for martyrs. Further he has been given proper send off from BSF campus Umpling  at 1500 hrs for his further journey to Tripura State.
