The BSF nabbed Indian liquor smuggler in the international with Bangladesh at Ichamati

Shillong, March 16: Border Security Force has intensified its vigil at border in Meghalaya despite its troops being deployed in election duties. Last week has been very happening for the sentinels of border in curbing trans-border crimes and smuggling.

Fighting with its available strength at border a  Joint Operation launched by BSF Troops deployed at Kurikhal in East Khasi Hills districtt of Meghalaya with Meghalaya Police on Ichhamati Kurikhal road, troops on duty seized a vehicle loaded with  illegal huge quantity of liquor coming from Shillong towards International Border.

Operational party apprehended one Indian national namely Wompher Blah 42 years from Shillong and seized vehicle 407 TATA Regt. No.ML-05-G-7676 loaded with excess 77 cartoons of Liquor  worth 2.5 Lacs. As this Indian Made Foreign Liquor(IMFL) is sold at heavy profit in Bangladesh.

Due to presence of BSF troops on border smuggler could not cross IB even after many attempts. The BSF has intensified its extra vigil along International Border keeping in view of liquor smuggling.

The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent such illegal transporting of liquor and cattle through International Border in Meghalaya. The truck was carry excessive liquor than the bills possess by the bearer.

In addition the BSF troops seized 200 cattle and other contraband items worth more than 1.2 Crore while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh on the International Border in Meghalaya during last week in more than 54 incidents.

Including in an incident when BSF troops seized 03 Trucks laden with 42 cattle heads. Apprehended person and seized items handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
