The BSF nabbed three Indian national, with twenty lakhs rupees from them In SWK District

Shillong, March 15: The Border Security Force troops showing extra alertness to prevent any trans-border crime on the International Border.Acting on a tip-off regarding smuggling of yaba tablets  on 14th Mar’2019, the BSF troops deployed at Lalghat,South West Khasi Hillsdistrict of Meghalaya apprehended 03 Indian nationals.

The three Indian national were identified as  namely, Mr  Smith Ch. Sangma 22 years, Mr  Purno R. Marak 24 years and Mr Amiston T Sangma a bike driver they are all from Ranikor area of South West Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya.

Mr Amiston T Sangma was carrying the other two Indian nationals from Gumaghat to Rongdu Village on his bike bearing No. ML-06-4839 Bajaj discover. The BSF seized Rs. 20,00,000/- along with 04 Mobile Phones from their possession.

They revealed before BSF that they received Rs. 20 lacs from Shillong but the source of money not confirmed. In this connection, on 13th Mar’ 2019, they stayed in a Hotel in Police Bazar Shillong Meghalaya. The purpose of the money is also yet to be confirmed. Name of some persons involved also surfaced in this illegal trade of yaba smuggling from across the border.

The BSF has stepped up its special drive against the smugglers and intensified its operations on Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent nefarious design of trans-border criminal to maintain tranquility in bordering areas of Meghalaya state as well as illegal transport of money keeping in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary election.

Apprehended persons along with seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
