The BSF once again organized a free medical camp at Jatrakona  of SGH District

Shillong, Feb 16: The Border Security Force once again organized a free medical camp under civic action programme as a part of Border Management Plan in a remote area in South Garo Hills District at Jatrakona Govt Bengali L P School on 15th Feb’2019. The border guards living to its expectation of winning the hearts of the local populace by organizing such public outreach programmes to provide assistance to the people in remote areas near International Boundary .

A free medical camp and health checkup  programme was organized to facilitate medical aid to dwelling people of village Jatrakona, New Jatrakona, Kadamboka, Simpara, Nagrajora, Cherengpara and Makabori, District South Garo Hills. More than 350 patients including children, women visited the camp from inaccessible areas. Needy people were examined by BSF medical officers and provided with free medicines.

The general population of the area were happy and thankful to BSF Medical team, lead by Dr. S K Verma, CMO (SG), Dr. Raikhan Thotchabhor(GDMO) of 75 Bn BSF and civil Dr. Chea CR Marek, of PHC Purakhasia for extending the free medical services at their door steps.

It is worth mentioning that BSF has recently organized a series of such medical camps at bordering areas to help needy persons who can’t access Shillong frequently. The head man of the village also expressed special thanks and gratitude to the BSF for such omen work and requested to made it on regular intervals.
