Shillong, June 03: The Border Security Force once again organized a Blood Donation Camp in Dobasipara village in South Garo Hills Distt on 01st June’2018. The border guards living to its expectation of winning the hearts of the local populace by organizing such public outreach programmes to save life of local population in areas near International Boundary.
The camp was organized under the aegis of Composite Hospital SHQ BSF Tura, 20 Bn BSF and in association with Badminton association of Tura. The camp was organized with the assistance of doctors of Civil Hospital Tura and Staff/Pathologist of Blood bank Tura. Dr.Balamurugan, CMO 20 Bn BSF, Mrs Tultul K Sangma, (GDMO), Mr Raikhan Thothanhor, (GDMO) 75 Bn assisted the blood bank staff in smooth conduct of Blood donation camp.
During the camp, Officers, Subordinates Officers and other Ranks of various units under Sector Headquarter Tura such as 20, 75, 93 Bns were donated their blood. About 82 BSF personnel were donated their blood. The blood bank authorities distributed sweets fruits and juice to the donor after donation of Blood.
The response of the general population of the area was very positive and they were happy and thankful to BSF for extending the social services at their door steps. It is worth mentioning that BSF has recently organized a series of medical camps at bordering areas to help needy persons who can’t access Shillong frequently.
In future more such Blood Donation Camps will be organized at International Border of South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya, said Sh. U K Nayal, DIG and PRO Meghalaya Frontier.
