The BSF organizes civic action programme for border population at Maheshkhola

Shillong, Nov 22: As part of Border Management plan, a Civic Action Programme was organized by the 170 BN Border Security Force under SHQ BSF Shillong on 21st Nov’2020 at Maheshkhola School Play ground in South West Khasi Hills.

This civic action programme was organized under the supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar, Offg. Commandant of 170 BN BSF in coordination with Bonbera Border Youth Club. On this occasion a friendly football match was played between women teams of Maheshkhola and Mahadev.

During this programme, sports items including 03 Nos Football, Football Net and 30 Pairs Football Jursey/T.shirts were distributed among the players/members of Bonbera Border Youth Club and women players of Maheshkhola and Mahadev.

The BSF has been keeping regular touch with the bordering people to meet its endeavor to help the poor and needy people. A heartfelt presence of local Headmen and other respected persons of the locality made the programme very successful. People of these villages praised the goodwill gesture by BSF done for these villages.

In connection with the programme Sh. Hardeep Singh, Inspector General Frontier HQ Meghalaya stated that such initiatives by the Border Security Force will develop a better understanding between border population and BSF creating a sense of security and further leading to decrease in smuggling activities in border area.

 

Pro BSF Meghalaya feel that more sports activities will be organise in border areas by BSF in order to promote sports and spot good talented sportsman from border area.
