06: In an initiative to promote the importance of ‘MATRI SHAKTI’ i.e Women power for serving the nation in its unique way the Border Security Force, Meghalaya Frontier organised `Raksha Bandhan’ at Umpling Campus with members of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Sammiti’ Shillong, families of BSF Jawan as well as `BSF Lady Constable’ also participated.
The same programme is also celebrated at International Border by the sentinels of the Border at BSF BOP Dawki and Lyngkhat on 6th Aug 2017 with 25 ladies of ‘Patanjali Mahila Sammiti’. All lady members of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Sammiti Shillong’ and `Pantanjali Mahila Sammiti Shillong’ wishes the long, healthy and unbeatable life of their brother i.e BSF Jawan after tying the holy `Raksha Bandhan’. Smt Reka Jain, President and Smt Menakshi Jhunjhunwala, Vice President of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Sammity Shillong’ delivered motivational lectures and presentations for BSF brothers/jawans on the eve of this auspicious occasion.
Youngest members of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Samity Shillong’ Miss Naini Choudhary (age 13 years) also delivered lecture on the topic of `Bety Bacho and Bety Parao’. On this occasion some beautiful cultural programme also organised by the members of `Marwadi Sanmellan Mahila Sammiti’. On 6th Aug’ 2017 all 25 lady members from `Patanjali Mahila Samity Shillong’ tied `Rakhi’ at ICP Dawki to BSF and BGB jawans at ICP Tamabil and distributed sweets with BSF & BGB Jawans.
The BSF troops were motivated by the members of ‘Patanjali Mahila Sammiti’ of Shillong at International Border i.e Dawki & Lyngkhat of East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya by celebrating the holy `Raksha Bandhan’. They appreciate our motto “Duty unto Death” and prayed to God for long and healthy life of sentinels.
They also given their best wishes/blessings. In the last Sh P K Dubey, IG BSF Meghalaya Ftr and Sh U K Nayal, DIG (G) Meghalaya Ftr assured to all Marwadi Sammela Mahila Sammiti, Shillong and Patanjali Mahila Sammiti Shillong, that BSF is always alert for fully security of the nation.
