Shillong, Nov 26: Meghalaya Home Minister Mr James K Sangma today said that the cabinet in the meeting today has decided to constitute an Independent Inquiry on the assault to Smti Agnes Kharshiing and Amti Sangma at Sohshrieh in East Jiantia Hills District.
The Government is concern on the incident; this Independent inquiry is like a fact finding to inquire into the incident. The term of reference to be work out by the political department, the inquiry will go into the genesis of the whole issued after the NGT band coal mining since 2014.
The home minister clearly said that, does not matter that they are, which political party they have their affiliation who ever commit a crimes the law will take it own course. The incident has to be look into the totality.
On the medical expense for treatment of Smti Agnes and Smti Amita, the state government has taken the decision that the government will bear the medical expenses for their treatment.
