Shillong, oct 29: The Deputy Chief Minister Mr Prestone Tynsong said that the cabinet in the meeting held today has approved the proposal from the transport department to hike 100 percent for vehicles registration.
Mr Prestone explain that id the cost of the vehicles is costing below three lakh the registration fees is increased from 2% to 4% , above three lakh the registration cost is increased from 3% to 6%, above five lakh to fifteen lakh the registration cost is increased from 4% to 8% and any type of vehicles above twety lakh the registration will be increased from 5% to 10%.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informs that the cabinet has approved to change the name of the Sericulture and weaving Department to Textile Department. In the Cabinet they have also approved the Weighbridge Policy to regulate the weighbridge in the state.
