The CEM of the GHADC laid the foundation for Eklavya model residential school in at Boldamgre

Ampati, March 06: The GHADC CEM Dipul R Marak on behalf of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma laid the foundation stone for the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Boldamgre, eight kilometers from Ampati in South West Garo Hills on March 6.

The base was laid in the presence of Meghalaya State Resource Mobilization & Employment Generation Council Co Chairman S B Sangma, GHADC Executive Member Nripen Koch and South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ramkumar S.

The Eklavya Model Residential School is a central scheme sanctioned to establish quality residential schools that stresses on the promotion of education of the tribal populace.

Addressing the gathering GHADC CEM Dipul R Marak thanked the Nokma for generously donating land for the school. He stated that it was an auspicious day for all the tribal community of Boldamgre and adjoining villages.

Informing that Rs.43.64 crores has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to improve the education of the tribal (ST) populace, the CEM urged the gathering to hold hands and work together in securing the future of their children.

Among others present at the gathering were Zikzak C&RD Block Development Officer Marylisa K Marak, District School Education Officer C J Sangma and Boldamgre Nokma Indubhuson Sangma.
