The CEM of the GHADC seek state Govt to bail out for the salary of its employees

Shillong, August 10: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Mr Boston Marak, has knock at the door of the state government to bail out for the pending salary of the employees.

Speaking to SP News Agency over phone from Tura, The CEM said that, the salary of the employees that is pending for eleven months has accumulated to Rs. 40 cores, which amount to Rs. 4 cores only the salary per month. From the GHADC they have asked the state government to bail them out, by way of advance from their share on royalty from major and minor minerals.

The share from Transport to the GHADC the state government has released, and also from the forest department but they are yet to received the official order, the amount is yet to know, said Mr Boston. From the major and minor minerals the GHADC has requested the state government to release in advance an amount of Rs. 10 to Rs 15 cores to enable the GHADC to pay partially the salary of its employees.

The CEM of the GHADC, the day he assumed office he has said that his top priority is to fine out ways and means how to get fund to pay the salary of the employees in the District council. Mr Boston said that he is hope full that   the state government will assist the GHADC.
