Shillong, March 31: The new development twist that emerged in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) the state Government through the District Council affair department has asked the Chairman Mr Boston Marak tobe the care taker CEM till the election of the new CEM was held.
Speaking to SP News Agency over phone Mr Marak confirm that he was asked by the government to be the care taker CEM of the GHADC till the election of the new CEM will be held. He (Boston) is likely to take charge as the care taker CEM in the GHADC on Monday.
Mr Marak also informs that he tried to meet the governor but he could not meet him since he was in Assam to attend the festival. He also said that today he has met the DCA Minister Mr Prestone Tynsong in Shillong.
When contacted the secretary Legislative wing of the GHADC Mr R Marak, said that it is the prerogative of the governor to appoint any one from among its members to be the care taker CEM in the District Council.
When asked is there any official communication from the governor that the Chairman of the District Council to be the care taker CEM, Mr Marak said so for no official communication has been received, when asked can a chairman be also the care taker CEM, the secretary legislative wing said that the rule is silence on that.
